Grid Connect Solar Power Systems

Reduce your power bills and CO² output by utilising your roof space. A grid connected solar power system will supply your household with energy and, if you consume less than you produce, feed the surplus to the electricity grid. Surplus energy is usually metered and credited to your power bill (depending on what State you are in and what retailer you are with). Some electricity providers install a bidirectional meter that runs backwards when you feed electricity to the grid. At present, only a few NSW retailers offer a voluntary feed-in tariff.
Grid Feed Solar System
A grid feed solar system essentially consists of solar panels and an inverter. The inverter converts the DC electricity into 240V. Inverters are small and can be mounted on the inside or outside of your house. The solar panels are ideally mounted on a north facing roof. You could also mount the panels on a pole or ground frame if your roof is facing 'the wrong way'.

Maintenance
Solar panels and inverters require minimum maintenance as they do not have any moving parts. Rain will usually keep the panels clean. Today's solar panels come with a 25-year performance warranty, but are designed to last 50 years or more.

We use German SMA inverters for our larger systems above 3kWh. SMA is the worldwide market leader for solar inverters and has set a new record for transformer-based units by achieving a maximum efficiency of 95.6%.
Latronics Inverter - Australian made

For our regular systems under 3kWh we use Latronics inverters. The Latronics PV-Edge® Series Inverters utilises the most advanced microprocessor algorithms which guarantees your power conversion is pure and stable. Some Latronics inverters can also charge a 48 volt battery bank as well as feed the grid.
