We at the Rainbow Power Company are employed in an industry with a primary objective of turning the tide away from environmental destruction and towards environmental harmony. We frequently hear businesses claim that they hold environmental concerns above all else, but often this attitude is taken in order to increase sales and may only be a public relations façade.
Our aims and objectives include the following:
- To manufacture, wholesale, retail and demonstrate by example devices powered by Renewable Energy sources.
- To trade in only high quality, user friendly, efficient, cost effective products, supported by reliable up-to-date advice and after sales service.
- To educate the general public in aspects of using energy from renewable sources, and living and developing in a sustainable way.
- To aid developing countries of the world in improving their living standards by educating and trading with them in renewable energy products.
History
Rainbow Power Company Ltd is an unlisted public company, incorporated in 1987 to design, manufacture, sell and install renewable energy equipment based on solar, wind and hydro energy sources.
We are proud to have been a major protagonist of the increased use of renewable energy both in Australia and in overseas countries. Our unparalleled commitment to education, demonstration and innovation provides Australia with a display that receives thousands of visitors a year. The company's dedicated and experienced workforce, well equipped factory and comprehensive range of products and services have provided us with a strong foundation on which we intend to continue to grow.

Wholesale and Distribution
The Company's domestic sales are handled by a variety of re-sellers (wholesalers) around the country and through our shop-front, online shop and mail order services (retail).
With access to the latest technologies and excellent support from our suppliers Rainbow Power Company is able to be competitive in all its products and services.
The company is proud to have a reputation for being one of the largest distributors of solar panels and batteries in the country.
Export and Services Overseas
Rainbow Power Company Ltd exports around 30% of its products and services to many countries in the Pacific region and beyond.
Power in these locations is usually needed for home lighting, medical clinics, schools, community centres, communications projects as well as for village water pumping.

We are proud to be the Pacific region distributor for Sundaya which manufactures a range of high quality lighting kits for developing countries. Their Ulitium kits are arguably the most advanced lighting kits for village homes.
We have also undertaken training courses and consultancy projects in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Kirribati and Brazil.

Our Caretaker's Cottage
Based in Northern NSW on the East coast of Australia, the Company's headquarters are powered by a 10 kW grid feed solar array with battery back-up.

As a working demonstration of the technologies we sell, the 700 sq metre building is solar passive in design and incorporates many energy saving features. This includes composting toilets, solar hot water system and large rainwater tanks.
Our showroom is open 9am to 5pm (NSW daylight saving time), Monday to Friday. Guided tours for groups can be booked for a small fee.
