New Solar Credits 'Rebate'

Parliament has finally passed this legislation. It is expected to take another 2 - 4 weeks to draft the regulations, forms and fine details. Solar Credits are Renewable Energy Certificates - RECs - with a 5 times multiplier - for systems up to 1500 Watts. This is for those who have not previously received a rebate.

The value of the RECs changes with market conditions. To see some system prices with RECs valued at $35 and at $50 see:

Lower Prices

With PV prices falling, now is a great item to buy some solar panels to upgrade or start your system.

See our great prices on Japanese high quality solar panels.

The Canadian made 530Ah Rolls batteries now have an increased capacity of 600Ah with no increase in price.

We also have a new battery tray to suit these 24Volt batteries (BAX-033).

Positioning of Solar Panel

If you need to have two or more rows of panels installed behind each other you need to leave enough space between the rows so that the front row does not shade out the back row, particularly in the winter months.

This is quite complex to calculate and it can involve some trade off in loosing very early or very late sun if space on your roof is at a premium. Peter Pedals has developed some tables to show the angles and distances involved.

If you find the tables a little complex, or difficult to use, and you are in the situation of having to have a couple of rows of solar panels, asks us to do the calculations when you buy your panels from us.

Cheers from Dave and all the RPC crew.
