Rainbow Power Company Enewsletter #111 -31st August 2007

Index:

1) Plasmatronic PL Reference Manual

2) BCSE Booklets

3) Feed In Tariffs

4) Conclusion

This month I don´t have a personal article written for you, but we do have some new info on our web site which may be of interest to you.

1) Plasmatronic PL Reference Manual:
After several years of experience the staff at Plasmatronics have completely re-written their manual.
The newly improved and updated manual is now almost doubled its size to 42 pages.

To view the 3.24MB file go to: http://www.rpc.com.au/pdf/PLRef6.1.6.pdf

2) BCSE Booklets:
The BCSE, in conjunction with the ATA and RISE, have written two booklets, one to educate the potential renewable energy power system customer on how to make a rational and accurate purchase decision, and the second to teach the current customer how to maintain and monitor their system to ensure optimum performance.

1 - Electricity From The Sun - Solar PV Systems Explained
2 - Solar PV Systems - Users' Maintenance Guide

To view these two books go to the solar section of our FAQ: http://www.rpc.com.au/products/services/faqindex.html

We congratulate the BCSE for producing the information and we suggest all solar system owners have a read of the maintenance booklet in particular. Our only caution is that it has a couple of photos of people walking and sitting on the solar panels! While this may be acceptable for certain models of panels mounted in a particular manner, we would suggest that you do not risk walking on your panels!
3) Feed in Tariffs:
In recent months there has been increased debate about Feed In Tariffs (FIT) for grid connected solar systems.
Some utilities are considering paying 2 to 3.8 times the normal rate that they sell power for to the consumer.

To view 5 articles on FIT´s, go all the way to the bottom of our FAQ page: http://www.rpc.com.au/products/services/faqindex.html
If you own a grid connected system (or are keen to learn more about them)

There is a Yahoo Group you can join (for free) called: ARGON - Australian Renewable Grid-interactive Owners Network This is a forum for the exchange of information between Australians who own, or are otherwise interested in, grid-interactive renewable-energy systems; in particular, those intended to generate electricity primarily for the owner's use.

These systems are typically residential rooftop photovoltaic systems with capacities of around 1.5 kW, but may be as large as 10 kW single phase or 30 kW 3-phase. http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ARGON/

4) Conclusion:
I would like to thank all the authors and organisations who have consented to have articles reprinted on our website. I feel the information is a valuable resource for those of you with solar systems.

If you have or see any other good articles let me know. We are always happy to share them with the owners consent.

Kind regards to you all
Dave Lambert Sales Manager
