Grid Feed Solar Systems Examples

Reduce your power bills and become less dependant upon polluting fossil fuels!
Now more cost effective with Solar Credits, Renewable Energy Certificates, Feed-In Tariff schemes.
(NSW has announced a GROSS Feed-In Tariff, ie you get paid for all the power you produce)

In the following examples, the inverter boosts the input from the solar array to 240V AC in order to feed it directly into the electricity grid.
If you require a power system that continues providing power in the case of grid failure, you will need batteries.

* The 1,600W Latronics PV Edge inverter can charge a 48 volt battery bank. The 2,500 watt PV Edge can be replaced by two 1,600 inverters.
With a separate household inverter connected to the battery bank, you can have a power supply that continues to function during a grid black-out.

Solar panel dimensions: Trina 185W = 1581 x 809mm
(LxW) Kyocera 135W= 1500 x 668mm
Kyocera 185W= 1341 x 990mm

• Under average conditions in northern NSW & SE Qld

‡ Renewable Energy Certificates based on a value of $36 per certificate (this value continually fluctuates)

¤ Feed-In-Tariff in NSW assuming gross Feed-In Tariff and an average 4.5 PSH†/day. PSH = peak sun hours

§ The cost is based on the installation (single storey roof) not being more than 50km from Nimbin and the value of RECs paid. Price may vary due to roof type, pitch and aspect, cable distances, materials required and site access.

How it works

The inverter boosts the input from the solar array to 240V AC in order
to feed it directly into the electricity grid.

The power usage will come from the grid and you pay for the
net usage (the difference between the two).

If you require a power system that continues providing power in the case
of grid failure you will need batteries.
