* Based on solar radiation figures for Northern NSW and Southern Qld. Note:
(1). The size of the battery bank may vary depending on system loads, location and budget.
(2). The cost of a battery enclosure is included in the price of all examples except 2K and 2T.
(3). The labour costs are based on the installation not being more than 50km from Nimbin. Price may vary due to roof type, pitch
and aspect, cable distances, materials required and site access.
§ Renewable Energy Certificates based on $30 per certificate (This value continually varies).

Equipment
All the above systems, except system 1K, include a fully
programmable Plasmatronics regulator with a LCD display
and a history record of the last 30 days.
System 1K uses a
lower cost, non programmable Apple regulator. |
Backup Power
With any stand-alone solar power system, in periods of
continuously overcast weather you may need another
energy source or take measures to considerably reduce
your power consumption.
A petrol or diesel generator with
a 240 volt power outlet or dedicated battery charger may be
required. The cost of a backup generator and battery
charger have not been included in the examples given. |
