Sundaya DCS Cable System

Plug n Play

Sundaya's DC Cabling Systems (DCS), based on the Plug & Play concept, is a smart solution for installing Decentralised Power System. Installation will be fast and easy and at the same time highly reliable. No more big toolkits needed for you or your installation technicians; a cable nipper or scissors; a hammer, allen-key and 1 screw driver are sufficient to quick and neatly install all wiring for a Solar Home System.

The DCS cabling system allows you to position lights and switches to suit the layout of your home. You can make these connections yourself without employing an electrician! High quality sealed connections are made to ensure lasting performance in humid tropical climates.

Specialised Cable

The DCS cable has a unique shape that allows easy recognition of the wires polarity. The positive wire has a square shape and the negative a round shape. Besides the shape, a clear marking on the positive wire is also made to clearly indicate polarity and capacity of the cable.

In low voltage DC installations, the most important factors limiting the capacity of a certain cable size are the current running through (measured in Ampere > A) and the distance from source to load (measured in metre > m)

This is why Sundaya developed a cable standard using Ampere-meter or Am as a value to indicate the capacity of a cable.

Cable Capacity

Sundaya presently offers 3 standard cable capacities as follows:

  • DCS 50Am
  • DCS 30Am
  • DCS 15Am

With the "Am-number" the technician can easily calculate and select the right wire for a certain load as follows:

Rule : The multiplication of Distance between Source and Load (in m) and the maximum current that is expected to flow (in A) should not exceed the Am-number marked on the cable.

Example: 2 lamps of 6W (1A) are to be connected to the Storage system which is 20 meters away from the Lamps. > 1A x 20m = 20Am, which means that a 15Am cable is too small and a 30Am is the right cable to use.

DCS Wiring Diagram

We install solar systems in Northern NSW and Southern QLD.

QLD:
Gold Coast (from Coolangatta to Southport), Nerang and Hinterland (Beaudesert) and out West (Warwick, Stanthorpe, Killarney)

NSW:
Northern NSW (Tweed Heads to Yamba, including Evans Head, Byron Bay and Ballina); the Far North Coast Hinterland (Grafton via Lismore to Murwillumbah) and out West (Casino to Tenterfield, including Drake and Tabulam, as well as Woodenbong and Bonalbo)

For larger system we also go up to Brisbane or down to Coffs Harbour and even Glen Innes. Other places by arrangement.
