Trina Solar Panels have been chosen to Power Australia's Largest Roof-Mounted Solar Array for the University of Queensland comprising more than 5000 polycrystalline solar panels.
The Queensland Government is contributing a grant of AUD1.5 million towards the AUD7.75 million project, which will feature the 1.2 MW solar PV installation, and will be capable of producing 1,750 MWh of electricity a year.
It it is expected to supply PV modules to the University of Queensland ('UQ') St Lucia campus in Brisbane, Australia, to be used for a 1.2 MW solar system which will be installed on the rooftops of four university buildings.
The large-scale installation will provide UQ with a significant source of clean green energy and is expected to be a resource for students and staff.
