Stainless Steel Hanger Bolt

Hanger bolts have wood-screw threads at one end, and machine threads at the other. Screw one end into wood, and the exposed end provides a machine threaded stud. You need a hanger bolt driver for proper installation. Comes with two solid washers and two nuts.

Ideal for fastening L Feet on solar array frames. Please review these instructions completely before proceeding.

Hanger bolts are designed to install SunLock rail sets above tile or metal corrugated roofs.

Tile roofs have 3 choices.

A hanger bolt for each L-Foot (specs attached) is required.
Procedure is to locate rafter under tile, drill 11mm hole in tile followed by an 8mm pilot hole into the rafter. Drive hanger bolt with hanger bolt driver through, leaving fine thread protruding through the tile; seal around hanger bolt shaft with Sikaflex or similar after removing tile dust. Wind a nut (3/8") down over a washer and GENTLY tighten to the tile. this requires an extra washer and perhaps an additional nut if the distance from roof to the underside of the PV modules is to be increased for greater ventilation.

The other methods are require tile removal of a tile and the use of flashing to the space where the tile was.
Either hanger bolts or stand offs can then be used.
