Victron Centaur - 12 Volt Battery Chargers

Victron Centaur Logo

Centaur battery chargers from Victron Energy have been designed to be a world-wide product with a wide input voltage and frequency range and universal compliance. While targeted at the recreational marine industry, these chargers work very well in other off-grid 12 volt battery systems, e.g. solar power installations at home or in a caravan or motor home.

Universal input voltage range
All Centaur models will operate without any adjustment needed over a 90 to 265 volt AC input voltage range, whether 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The chargers also accept 90-400V DC supply.

Three outputs that each can supply the full output current
Three isolated outputs to simultaneously charge 3 battery banks. Each output is capable to supply the full rated current (not simultaneously). Batteries must be of the same type when charged simultaneously (e.g. all AGM, or all wet cell batteries).

Three stage charging, with temperature compensation
The Centaur charges at bulk rate until the output has reduced to 70 % of the rated Amps, at which a 4 hour timer begins. After the timed period the charger switches to float rate. An internal temperature sensor is used to compensate the charge voltage with - 2 mV/°C per cell. A dip switch is available to select the optimum charge/float voltages for Flooded Lead-acid, Gel or AGM batteries.

Protection
Aluminium epoxy powder coated cases (in Victron Blue) with drip shield and stainless steel fixings withstand the rigours of an adverse environment: heat, humidity and salt air. Circuit boards are protected with an acrylic coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that power components will always operate within specified limits, if needed by automatic reduction of output current under extreme environmental conditions.

Centaur Chargers - comprehensive, competitive and compatible - wherever they might be used.

We install solar systems in Northern NSW and Southern QLD.

QLD:
Gold Coast (from Coolangatta to Southport), Nerang and Hinterland (Beaudesert) and out West (Warwick, Stanthorpe, Killarney)

NSW:
Northern NSW (Tweed Heads to Yamba, including Evans Head, Byron Bay and Ballina); the Far North Coast Hinterland (Grafton via Lismore to Murwillumbah) and out West (Casino to Tenterfield, including Drake and Tabulam, as well as Woodenbong and Bonalbo)

For larger system we also go up to Brisbane or down to Coffs Harbour and even Glen Innes. Other places by arrangement.

We are Open for Business

Rainbow Power Company would like to assure our customers that we are trading (not quite as normal). System designers are working from home and can customise a quote for you (free of charge) over the phone and online. We are still dispatching and posting items, with safety precautions in place. You can still order online or over the phone, and pick up items from RPC (our show room is closed however, and appointments must be made to pick up orders). We are still doing site inspections, keeping the recommended social distancing.
