Voltage Sensitive Relay - Battery Isolator - 12V - 140A

12V 140A Voltage Sensitive Relay - Battery Isolator

Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) units sense the input voltage generated and automatically connect/disconnect the appliance or circuit at pre-set voltages, eliminating the possibility of discharging the primary starting battery. We also stock a 24V version [BAX-220].

Use as Battery Isolator

A battery isolator divides direct current (DC) into two branches to charge a starter and a deep cycle battery simultaneously. Battery isolators are commonly used in motor homes, campervans or other recreational vehicles as well as boats or yachts. The isolator ensures that the starter battery of your vehicle does not get drained by accessory loads e.g. camping fridges, which should be connected to the auxiliary (deep cycle) battery. Isolators are also used in vehicles with large, high-power car stereos and off road vehicles to accommodate high current loads such as a recovery winch.

This VSR unit is ideal for dual battery set-ups as it enables two batteries to be charged at the same time and then isolates the batteries from each other when the vehicle is turned off, ensuring your starting battery is always charged & ready to go.

Constructed with a weatherproof body (IP65) and durable silver tipped contacts, the VSR unit also features surge protection and a LED indicator designed to alert the user when the unit is engaged.
