SunPower solar panels truly stick out; they are thicker than most other panels yet their special back contact design looks great. Instead of 60 or 72 (which was the norm over the last decade), SunPower panels feature 92 cells. It is, however, not the appearance or the number of cells but the cell architecture that makes the difference.

This cell architecture becomes noticeable, even to the untrained eye, as you get closer to the panel. You can actually see that, unlike other panels, it has no metal collectors on the front of the cell. When you look at the data sheet, you will also notice that the power output is much higher, yet the panel is the same size.

You will also read that it has only a 0.4% warranted degradation each year and comes with a full 25-year parts and labour warranty - the only panel to carry such a warranty. These features are unique to SunPower, and it owes it to its Maxeon Cell technology.

SunPower also come with a 0-5% positive power tolerance - which means the panel produces AT LEAST the amount it states on the label. So a 327 watt panel with a 5% positive power tolerance may well be a 340W panel at the time of purchase.

Furthermore, SunPower panels have diode protection built into each cell meaning they perform much better than conventional solar panels when partially shaded. View a demonstration.

These are record setting efficiencies, meaning you can get the maximum energy from your roof space and make your investment count. Over the guaranteed lifespan of the panel, the yield will be much greater.
