Since the regulated feed-in tariff (FiT) was abolished by the NSW Liberal Government it is more difficult to size an appropriate grid connect solar system that provides return on investment.

The regulated FiT is currently set at 0 cent - meaning you get nothing for energy fed into the electricity grid. Hence the only way to make a solar system worthwhile is to consume most generated electricity yourself – better all of it. Our Solar Savings Calculator looks at your average energy consumption and matches a solar system to minimise exports.

You will need a recent AND typical power bill - please look for the corresponding data on your bill. Once all data is provided the calculator shall return:

  • An energy consumption and production graph
  • An annual savings graph
  • An estimate of accumulated savings over 20 years
  • An accurate of system cost (installed), including government rebates.

You can also adjust the 'minimum export' solar system and add more panels. Adding panels will offset intermittent peak demands, and make you 'battery ready'. Sonnenschein@home batteries can store energy at the same cost as you'd have to pay your provider for the same amount. Tesla announce that their Powerwall will be even cheaper than grid power (expected in 2016).

From start to finish, you only need about two minutes to complete both the calculation and quote request. We look forward to hearing from you.
