Rob Stokes Announced As Parliamentary Secretary For Renewable Energy

Member for Pittwater Rob Stokes was today announced as the New South Wales Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy.
The announcement was made by Premier Barry O'Farrell and recognises Rob Stokes' extensive background in environmental law and policy development.
This is the first time a NSW Government has appointed a Parliamentary Secretary for Renewable Energy – recognising the integral role renewable energy will play in the State's future.
'This is an exciting and challenging role with enormous opportunities', Rob Stokes said today.
'Renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, biomass, geothermal and hydro are plentiful throughout NSW – and their potential must continue to be explored.
'NSW's growing population means we must continue looking outside the square for renewable energy opportunities.
'Local initiatives like Pittwater High School's Solar Power Station project demonstrate the enormous potential for community-led renewable energy projects.
'I'm keen to explore and promote new ways of using our State's renewable energy resources to power the development of our economy and society.
'Renewable energy is an exciting way forward for NSW with the potential to benefit communities across the State – including Pittwater', Rob Stokes concluded.
