Rural Grid Connect System Examples

A grid connect solar system for rural properties is not much different to a residential system. Rural electricity connections are however often two or three phase connections. Some may have more intricate meter setups, too.

It is important to determine how your consumption is spread over those phases / meters. Your house may be on one phase, and the shed(s) on another. There is a lid for every pot, and we will find the best solution for you. Whether you use high powered machinery in the shed, off-site cool rooms, swimming pool pumps, or just like to spend your days at home with the air-con on, it is definitely worth installing solar even on rural or remote properties.

Sizing a grid connect solar system

On a typical business day electricity consumption is quite predictable; computers, printers, lights etc. are turned on in the morning and turned off at the end of the day. If your business operates on weekends then your savings will even be greater.

An oversized grid connect system may still result in higher savings but will definitely increase the payback period. To provide more power at around 9am and 5pm results in a large surplus during midday:
